It is recommended that the unit is placed somewhere in the vehicle’s dashboard, but consideration should be given to space, closeness to driver, environmental conditions and distance from the antenna. If the surface is not flat (less than a radius of 1m or 3.3ft), then make sure any gap between the surface and the antenna base is sealed with silicon.
