First Steps Inserting the Batteries The camera takes two AA alkaline (LR6) batteries (supplied) , two lithium batteries (sold separately) or two AA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries (sold separately). Insert the batteries in the camera as described below. Open the battery-chamber cover. First Steps Inserting a Memory Card Although the camera can store pictures in internal memory, SD memory cards (sold separately) can be used to store additional pictures. When no memory card is inserted, q appears in the monitor and internal memory is used for recording and playback. Note that because camera malfunction could cause internal memory to become cor- rupted, the pictures in internal memory should periodically be transferred to a computer and saved on the computer hard disk or on

Viewing Pictures Pictures can be viewed in the monitor. When taking important photographs, take a test shot and check the results. Press the D button.
