INMARSAT C SYSTEM OVERVIEW Introduction The Inmarsat C system provides worldwide telex and data transmission and reception of written information to owners of an Inmarsat C transceiver or a terrestrial telex network via satellite. LRIT COMPLIANCE This equipment can function as a marine communications terminal for the LRIT (Long-Range Identification and Tracking) system, as prescribed by the IMO regulation MSC.202(81). The LRIT uses the FELCOM's Data Report/Polling feature for LRIT position reporting. The LRIT system is fully automatic, thus no operation is required of the user.
