1 INTRODUCTION The GDL 88 is a remotely mounted ADS-B transceiver. There are four models of the GDL 88(D). Models with a single bottom mounted UAT antenna meet TSO C154c Class A1S and are available with or without an internal GPS/SBAS receiver. ADS–B Out pr ovides air traffic controllers with real-time position information that is, in most cases, more accurate than the information available with current radar-based systems.
