Selecting a Location The location you select for installing the system hardware must meet the following requirements: ■ 19-inch EIA-standard grounded rack or table capable of supporting at least 154 kg (340 lb). A fully-loaded switch weighs 77 kg (170 lbs). ■ At least 2 inches (5.2 cm) on either side of the chassis, and from the front and rear of the chassis, to allow adequate airflow through the chassis (Figure1). Installing/Removing Power Supplies You can replace power supplies without shutting down power to the Cajun P880. However, you must turn off the power to the power supply you are replacing. CAUTION Each power supply powers approximately nine I/O modules. You need a minimum of two power supplies if you have more than 10 modules in the chassis. It takes two power supplies to power a full chassis. Using three power supplies ensures that the system has redundant power capabilities. Use Table 1

(Refer to "Preventing Electrostatic Discharge" for more information on proper antistatic precautions). 3. Make sure that the ON/OFF switch on the power supply is OFF. (O) 4.
