English Getting Started Installing Batteries Install two “AA” batteries (not included) into the battery compartment, matching the polarities as indicated. To change batteries, slide open the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Insert 2 x “AA” batteries, matching the polarities as indicated. Replace the battery compart- ment door. Getting Started Recording 1. Press STOP/EJECT button to open the microcassette compartment. 2. Install a microcassette with the desired side facing outward (visible through window). 3. Close the microcassette compartment. 4. Set the VAS switch to OFF (for normal recording) or ON (to activate the voice activated system). 5. Press the RECORD button. English Getting Started Cue and Review To locate a specific portion of the tape during playback, you can fast forward or rewind the tape by sliding and holding the F.FWD-REW switch down or up. The recorded portion will produce a “chattering” sound during scan- ning, allowing the recorded and unrecorded portions of the tape to be easily distinguished.
