The drive clutch lever should only be engaged after the engine has been started. BEFORE OPERATION Engine Oil Level FILLER CAP/DIPSTICK Check the engine oil level with the engine stopped and the mower on a level surface. 1. Remove the oil filler cap, and wipe the dipstick clean. 2. Insert and remove the dipstick without screwing it into the filler neck. Check the oil level shown on the dipstick.
