2 TURNING ON THE DVR Once the cables and adapters have been properly connected it is time to turn on the power. To turn on the power follow these steps: 1. Turn on the monitor and any external peripherals (ex. Printers, External Storage Devices, etc.) connected to the DVR. 2. Turn on the Secondary Power Switch located in the rear of the DVR. 3. 3 USING THE DVR UTILITY Exporting DVR Settings Exporting DVR settings can help configure multiple DVRs quickly or reconfigure a DVR that has failed. Some things must be kept in mind when using this feature. You cannot use this function on: • DVRs that are different models. • When upgrading from certain software versions. 10 SETUP OVERVIEW The Setup options allow you to optimize your DVR by adjusting things like camera names, reboot schedules, recording schedules and more.
