Controls and Indicators KEY SWITCH – GASOLINE VEHICLES The key switch (7) is mounted on the instrument panel to the right of the steering column ( Figure 6 ) . It has three positions: OFF , ON, and ST AR T . T o start the vehicle, place the Forward/Reverse handle in the NEUTRAL position and turn the key to the ST AR T position, and hold it there until the engine starts.
