Checking the Ink Cartridge Status When the ink light starts flashing, one or more cartridges are low on ink. You can continue printing until a cartridge needs replacement. When the ink light stays on, you need to replace the cartridge(s). Caution: You cannot print when an ink cartridge is expended even if the other cartridges are not expended. Replacing Ink Cartridges Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones.
