14 Command Reference Guide Node Commands The length of node names is dependent on the protocol. Any alphanumeric character may be used, along with: ‘$’, ‘-’, ‘_’, ‘.’. • NetWare node names can have a maximum of 47 characters • LAT node names can have a maximum of 16 characters • TCP/IP node names can have a maximum of 63 characters TCP/IP node names consist of a 1-16 character local node name and a domain name of 1-47 characters.
