STACKING THE UPS ON A BATTERY PACK Note: For rack mounting, proceed to Mounting the UPS in a Rack, below. Do not step on the UPS. The UPS chassis is not designed to sup- port additional weight. When stacking the UPS with an external battery pack, position the UPS on top of the 2U battery pack. 3: OPERATION SMART-UPS FRONT PANEL OPERATION The ON and OFF buttons are used to power the UPS and act as master controls for the connected equipment. SELF-TEST The UPS performs a self-test automatically when turned on, and Automatic Self-Test every two weeks thereafter (by default). Refer to User Configur- able Items for details on changing the default interval. Automatic self-test eases maintenance requirements by eliminating the need for periodic manual self-tests.
