Administration Overview and Requirements Step 2: DHCP Server to Telephone The DHCP file server provides information to the telephone, as described in DHCP and File Servers on page 43. Among other data passed to the telephone is the IP address of the HTTP or HTTPS server. Step 3: Telephone and File Server The 1600 Series IP Telephones can download script files and settings files from either an HTTP or HTTPS server. Error Conditions The 1600 Series IP Telephones support a feature called Unnamed Registration. Unnamed Registration allows a telephone to register with the Avaya Media Server without an extension, assuming the Avaya Media Server also supports this feature.
