Introduction This section will give you a description of this option and the software which comes with it, as well as some information you will need before you install the option. To install the IBM Option Diskette device drivers for Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows 3.x, OS/2 or DOS: 1. Insert the IBM Option Diskette into the diskette drive. 2. Using CD-R and CD-RW discs The CD-RW drive can write to both CD-R and CD-RW discs. CD-R discs cannot be erased, but can be used with standard CD-ROM drives and CD players. You can use CD-R discs to record audio tracks, store data, archive files, and copy files from another CD. CD-RW discs can be erased and rewritten, but can be used only with newer MR (multi-read) and CD-RW compatible CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives. To load a CD into a vertically mounted CD-RW drive, follow these steps. 1. Press the Eject/Load button. 2. Look at the illustrations and compare them to your loading tray. If your loading tray looks like the left illustration, insert the CD carefully so that the edges of the CD are underneath the tabs on the loading tray. These plastic tabs cover the edges of the CD and hold it in place. The tabs are attached to the tray itself and cannot be moved. If your loading tray looks like the right i
