INSTALLING YOUR 2 DRIVE This chapter guides you through the installation of your new CD-ROM drive. To install the drive, your PC must have a free IDE interface connector, or you must buy an IDE controller card from a computer retailer. (An Enhanced IDE controller card is required if your PC already has a one-port IDE controller). See Appendix A for a brief introduction to IDE connections. 2.1 Installing the CD-ROM Drive Here’s how to install your CD-ROM drive: 1. Turn off your PC and remove it
