15 Using the appliance for the fi rst time EN Installing the filter Some models are fitted with a water softener filter to improve the quality of the water used and extend the working life of the appliance. To install, proceed as follows: 1 Remove the filter from the packaging; 2 Slide the date indicator pointer (see fig. 29) until the months of use are displayed. 17 Turning on and heating up EN Each time the appliance is turned on, it performs an automatic preheat and rinse cycle which cannot be interrupted. The appliance is ready for use only after completion of this cycle. Important! Be careful. During rinsing, a little hot water flows from the coffee spouts.
