OPERATION SELECTOR WITH CENTER TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK LOCK POSITION n Lock the switch trigger on the drill by placing the direction of rotation (forward-reverse) selector in center position. OPERATION TWO SPEED REVERSIBLE GEAR TRAIN (HI-LO) See Figure 4. LO This tool has the feature of being reversible. OPERATION UNLOCK INSTALLING BITS (RELEASE) See Figures 9-10. n Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rota- tion selector in center position. See Figure 4. n Open or close chuck jaws to a point where the opening is slightly larger than the bit size you intend to use. OPERATION ADJUSTING ADJUSTABLE TORQUE CLUTCH TO DECREASE RING TORQUE This drill is equipped with an adjustable torque clutch for driving different types of screws into different materials. The proper setting depends on the type of material and the size of screw you are using. TO ADJUST TORQUE n Identify the twenty four torque indicator settings located on the front of the drill. OPERATION DRILLING See Figure 13. When drilling hard smooth surfaces use a center punch to mark desired hole location. This will prevent the drill bit from slipping off center as the hole is started. However, the low speed feature allows starting holes without center punching if desired. To accomplish this, simply operate the drill at a low speed until the hole is started. The material to be drilled should be secured in a vise or with clamps to keep it from turning as the drill bit rotate

MAINTENANCE MALLET CHUCK REMOVAL See Figures 14, 15, and 16. The chuck must be removed in order to use some acces- sories.
