Switching on 1. Place the unit on a flat surface. Plug the mains lead into a wall socket and switch on at the wall socket. Setting the time and date Note: When the unit is set to CD mode or radio you cannot set the time 1 and date. 1. Press and hold the Time Set button for 2 seconds. 3 2. Listening to the Radio 1. Switch on your radio by pressing the Radio On button. 1 2. The backlight will change from green to orange. The radio icon and the station frequency will show in the display. After approximately 10 3 seconds the display will revert back to showing the time. 3. The current waveband is displayed at the top of the display. Storing stations in memory 1. Tune in the radio to the required station. 2. Press the Memory button. The Memory indicator will flash on the 1 display. 3. Select the required memory position by using the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/Mem. Down buttons. The position number will show on the display. 4. Store this station by pressing the Memory button. 3 3 5. Compact discs Use only Digital Audio CDs which have the symbol. Never write on a CD or attach any sticker to the CD. Always hold the CD at the edge and store it in its case after use with the label facing up. To remove dust and dirt, breathe on the CD and wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth in a straight line from the centre towards the edge. Inserting a CD 1. To open the CD compartment, lift the CD door on the edge marked 'Open'. 2. Press the CD onto the spindle and close the CD door. 1 3. The CD player will scan the contents of the CD and the total duration of the CD will appear in the display along with the total number of tracks. Playing a CD 1. Press the Play/Pause button to start playback. The display will show the time elapsed for the current track. The track number will show on the right side of the display. Selecting a track Use this function to select a track on the CD. 1. Whilst the CD is playing, press either the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/ Mem. Down buttons to change to the desired track. CD repeat mode Use this function to repeat a single track or repeat the entire CD. 1. Whilst the CD is playing press the Repeat button once to repeat the current track. The repeat track icon will appear and the selected track will be repeated indefinitely. 2. Press the Repeat button again to repeat all tracks on the CD. Programmed play Use this function to programme the player to play selected tracks on the CD in the order that you want to hear them played. A maximum of 21 tracks can be programme. Note: You cannot programme the CD whilst it is playing. If the CD is playing press the Stop/Off button to stop playback and the display shows the total number of tracks. Erasing a programme 1. Programmes are erased by pressing the Stop/Off button, or interrupting the mains supply. 1 Setting Alarm Times Your unit has three separate alarms (Alarm 1, Alarm 2 and Alarm 3) that can be set and used independently and can be set to wake you with the radio, the CD player or by a buzzer. You can use the alarms to wake three people at different times with 5 wake up options: 1 - 5 Monday through Friday 1 - 6 Monday through Saturday 1 - 7 Every day 6 - 7 Saturday and Sunday
