9 Operation Operation HOW TO LIGHT THE FIRE 1. STOP! Read the safety information on the front cover. 2. If using the optional thermostat, set thermostat to High-Low the lowest setting. 3. Turn off electric power to the appliance. 4. Turn the ON-OFF/THERMOSTAT switch to the OFF position. 5. Push in the gas control knob slightly and turn it clockwise to “OFF.” NOTE: THE KNOB CANNOT BE TURNED FROM “PILOT” TO “OFF” UNLESS IT IS PUSHED IN SLIGHTLY. DO NOT FORCE IT. 6. Wait five (5) m

The inlet fitting is 1/2” male flare fitting designed for 1/2” stainless flex pipe. This fitting can be removed to provide 3/8” female pipe thread. A separate gas shut-off valve and a 1/8” N.P.T. plugged tapping should be installed immediately up- stream of the connection to the appliance.
