Getting Started With PCS Service Determine if Your Phone is Already Activated If you received your phone in the mail or purchased it at a Sprint Store, it probably has been activated. All you need to do is unlock your phone. If your phone is not activated, please refer to the Start Here Guide included with your phone. Turning Your Phone On and Off Turning Your Phone On To turn your phone on, press for approximately two seconds. Once your phone is on, it displays “System Searching”, which indicates that your phone is searching for a signal. When your phone finds a signal, it automatically enters standby mode – the phone’s idle state. At this point, you are ready to begin making and receiving calls.
