Y594 (MULTISTAGE THERMOSTAT SUBBASE) PACKAGE VERTICAL MOUNTING  Note the tabs along the top inside edge of the OUTLET SCREWS (2) 1 BOX thermostat base. The tabs fit into the subbase notches. Mount the thermostat on the subbase and COVER ADAPTER PLATE 2 tighten the captive mounting screws. See Fig. 1. Do RING 2 not overtighten captive mounting screws.
