BATTERY INSTALLATION CLIP EMBOSSED Your FR-531-2 requires four AAA alkaline RELEASE ARROW cells. Alkaline batteries will provide the best LATCH performance from your transceiver. Remove the battery cover by rotating the carry clip away from the battery compartment. Slide the bat- tery cover downward while applying pressure at the embossed arrow. USING YOUR FR-531-2 Turning the Transceiver On and Off Pressing the power button (1) for 2 seconds will activate the unit. The speaker will sound a beep tone to confirm the transceivers activation. Channel Scanning Pressing the SCAN button initiates and automatic scan of the FRS channels (1-14) in the upward or downward direction. - Press the SCAN button; channel scan will commence. - To scan in the upward direction, press the Up Channel/Volume button; to scan in the downward direction, press the Down Channel/Volume button.
