Conventions used in this manual Menu References Many Model 3000 features may be accessed via the menu display and its associated “soft” buttons and “soft” knobs. The term “soft” merely means that the function of the button or knob is temporary, being assigned via the menu display. System Overview 1 Introduction This section presents a general description of the Grass Valley Model 3000 Switching System, pointing out specific areas of interest to the operator. Both the 3000-2 (a two-effects switcher) and the 3000-3 (a three-effects switcher) are covered. The Control Panel and Signal Processor descriptions given in this section will provide you with a basic knowledge of the Model 3000 structure. Section 1 — System Overview General Description The Model 3000 is a multi-format digital switcher that can manipulate a variety of composite digital and analog video and key signals through the use of 10-bit digital processing.
