OVERVIEW This user manual will help you set up and use your Philips manufactured DIRECTV Satellite Receiver. On-screen messages will provide additional help, as will the glossary on page 40 of this manual. MODES Your Satellite Receiver has four modes: • Standby - Satellite Receiver is on but inactive; television is off. • TV - displays television programming. • Guide - for viewing schedules and tuning to a program. • Menu - for setting preferences and access codes. To change modes, press the POWER, GUIDE, or MENU buttons on the remote. Features available in each mode are described below. PREPARING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY INSTALLATION Remove the battery compartment cover. Insert the two batteries (type LR6/AA - 1.5 V) supplied. Position them, as shown in the diagram, in the battery compartment. Replace the cover.
