Still Image Mode z Still image mode is the mode generally used for taking photos. Ready the camera. 2 Remove the lens cap and hold the camera securely with both hands, being careful not to obstruct the lens, AF-assist illuminator, or microphone. Rotate the camera as shown at lower z right when taking pictures in “tall” (portrait) orientation. Shutter speeds slow when lighting is poor; use of the built-in flash (0 39) or a tripod is recommended. Frame the photograph. 3 Position your subject in the center of the frame. 8
