Using a Household Power Source The LCD screen's backlight is brighter when the camcorder is powered from a household power source. 1. Turn the POWER switch to OFF. q 2. Loading/Unloading a Cassette Use only video cassettes marked with the D logo. 1. Slide and hold the OPEN/EJECT Tape switch and open the cassette w protection tab q compartment cover. Basic Functions - Preparations Installing the Backup Battery The backup battery allows the camcorder to retain date, time ( 19) and other E camcorder settings while the power source is disconnected. Connect a power source to the camcorder when replacing the backup battery to retain the settings. 1. Press the OPEN button to open the w e r LCD panel. 2. Pull out the battery holder. 3. Place the lithium battery with the + side facing downward into the battery holder. 4. Insert the battery holder. q

Preparing the Camcorder Adjusting the Viewfinder (Dioptric Adjustment) 1. Turn on the camcorder and keep the LCD panel closed. 2. Pull out the viewfinder. 3. Adjust the dioptric adjustment lever.
