PREPARATION FOR USE Unpacking And Set-up 1.) Remove the unit from the carton and remove all packing materials from the unit. Important: Make sure that you remove the AC Power Cord from the carton. 2.) Remove any descriptive labels that may be on the top of the cabinet. Do not remove any labels from the bottom of the cabinet. 3.) Press on the OPEN button and lift the lid. 4.) Press the CD Door in the area marked “OPEN/CLOSE” to open the CD Door. POWER SOURCES This system can be operated on 6 “C” batteries or on normal 120V 60Hz AC house current. Attempting to operate this system on any other power source may cause damage to the unit and such damage is not covered by your warranty. Battery Operation 1.) Close the lid and place the unit up-side down on a flat surface. 2.) Press the two tabs on each of the battery doors and remove the doors. 3.) AC Operation 1.) Unwind the AC power cord and extend it to its full length. 2.) Insert the smaller end of the cord into the AC socket on the side of the cabinet. 3.) Insert the plug into any convenient 120V 60Hz AC outlet. Note: In order to operate this unit on batteries the AC cord must be disconnected from the unit. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Important Information: This system can only be operated with the lid in the open position. If you close the lid while the radio or a CD is playing the power shuts ‘Off’ automatically. LISTENING TO THE RADIO 1.) Press the OPEN button and raise the lid. 2.) Press the POWER button to turn the system ‘ On ’. 3.) Press the TUNER button to select the radio function. 4.) Press either the AM of FM button to select the desired band. 5.) PLAYING COMPACT DISCS Normal Playback 1.) Press the OPEN button and raise the lid. 2.) Press the POWER button to turn the system ‘ On ’. 3 6 5 2 3.) Pause Control To Pause temporarily during playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button. The sound stops and the track display flashes but the disc continues to spin. Press PLAY/PAUSE once more to cancel Pause mode and resume normal playback. To Start Playback From A Specific Track After the player reads the disc and displays the total number of tracks press either the FWD or REV buttons until the desired track number appears on the display, then press the PLAY/PAUSE button. Repeat Playback You can automatically repeat the entire disc or a single track. To repeat the entire disc: Load the disc in the player and wait until the display shows REPEAT the total tracks. Press the P. MODE button once. The REPEAT indicator will appear in the display. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback. The entire disc will be repeated indefinitely. PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK This CD player has a 19 track programmable memory system that allows you to program up to 19 tracks on any CD. You can select only the tracks that you want to hear and have them play in any order you want to hear them. The same track can be programmed to play several times if desired. NOTE : Programming can only be done when the player is in Stop mode. 1.) Press the PROGRAM button. The PROGRAM indicator appears and Program Memory number 1 flashes in the PROGRAM display. 2.) P

Program Repeat Playback You can also use the Program and Repeat features together to repeat an entire programmed sequence of tracks indefinitely. First program the tracks you wish to hear in the desired order as described above. REPEAT Then press the REPEAT button once so that the REPEAT indicator appears in the display. CARE AND MAINTENANCE COMPACT DISC CARE • To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edges. • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach any tape, stickers, etc. to the disc label. • Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaner

CLEANING THE UNIT • To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the AC power source when cleaning. • If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet. • If the cabinet becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints it may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service. Important! Speaker Protection Circuit To prevent damage to the two ultra thin speakers mounted in the lid, the VOLUME control will automatically return to a low 'default' setting each time the power is switched 'Off'.
