1 Installing and Customizing the Software If your computer was not shipped with a Microsoft operating system, some portions of this documentation do not apply. Additional information is available in online help after you install the operating system. NOTE: If the computer was shipped with Windows Vista or Windows 7 loaded, you will be prompted to register the computer with HP Total Care before installing the operating system. Table 2-3 Computer Setup—Storage (continued) Storage Options Removable Media Boot Enables/disables ability to boot the system from removable media. eSATA Port Allows you to set a SATA port as an eSATA port for use with an external drive. Max eSATA Speed Allows you to choose 1.5 Gbps or 3.0 Gpbs as the maximum eSATA speed. By default, the speed is limited to 1.5 Gbps for maximum reliability.
