99-8156 DASH DISASSEMBLY LEXUS LS SERIES 1990-1994 A 1 Disconnect the negative battery ter- minal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 2 Carefully pry out and remove ashtray assembly below radio. (Figure A) 3 Using a panel removal tool or small flat blade screwdriver gently pry out on the top of the A/C vent assembly and remove. A 1 Attach the corresponding radio hous- ing bracket to the radio housing using the included Phillips screws. (Figure A) 2 Slide the factory climate control into the assembled radio housing brack- ets/radio housing assembly and secure with the factory hardware. (Figure B) Continue to kit assembly

A 1 Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure A) 2 Slide the aftermarket radio into the cage until it snaps in place. (Figure B) Continue to final assembly. B 3

99-8156 KIT ASSEMBLY LEXUS LS SERIES 1990-1994 ISO MOUNT RADIO PROVISION WITH POCKET Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio. A 1 Mount the ISO Brackets to the radio using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure A) 2 Slide the radio into the radio housing until the side clips engage. (Figure B) 3 Snap the Trim plate onto the front of the Radio Housing. (Figure B) Continue to final assembly. B 4

Metra recommends using the 1 proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individ- ually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.) 2 Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.
