Introduction Introduction 1 The switching technology of the Industrial Ethernet OSM Version 2/ESM (Optical/Electrical Switching Module) allows the structuring of Ethernet networks with large spans and large numbers of nodes. It simplifies network configuration and network expansions. The OSM Version 2/ESM are simply called OSM/ESM in the rest of this manual.
