Chapter 1 Installing the Faxmodem Your computer should be located near a telephone jack. CAUTION Before you start, touch a grounded metal surface other than your computer to discharge static electricity. Static electricity can damage computer and modem components. Locate your faxmodem’s serial number on the bot- 1 tom of the case. Write the number in the Impor- tant Information section on page 32. See the software instructions included with your soft- ware for information about how to install and use the programs included with this product.
