Air cir culation Y our comput er and monit or pr oduce heat. The comput er has a fan that pulls in fr esh air and for ces out hot air . The monit or lets hot air escape thr ough vents. Blocking the air vents can cause overheating, which might r esult in a malfunction or damage. Place the comput er and monit or so that nothing blocks the air vents; usually, 51 mm (2 inches) of air space is sufficient. Also, mak e sur e the vent ed air is not blowing on people.
