Connecting a Monitor If your monitor has a detached cable, connect it to the back of the monitor first. Then, if you have a VGA monitor, connect the other end of the cable to the VGA monitor port on the computer’s back panel. Tighten any screws to secure the connection. Then connect the monitor’s power cord to the monitor, if necessary. Connecting a Parallel Printer Connect one end of the parallel cable to your printer, as described in your printer manual. Connecting a Mouse ® TM If you will be using an IBM PS/2 compatible mouse, connect its cable to the mouse port. Connecting a TPE LAN Cable If you will be using the built-in LAN controller and connecting TM it to your network with a Twisted Pair Ethernet (TPE) 10BASET cable, connect the cable to the TPE port. Connecting an AUI LAN Cable If you will be using the built-in LAN controller and connecting it to your network with an Attachment Unit Interface (AUI) cable, connect the cable to the AUI port.
