About the Nortel IP Phone 2007 Basic features The IP Phone 2007 supports the following features: • 12 programmable feature soft keys • four soft keys (self-labeled) providing access to a maximum of ten features Note: Your IP Phone 2007 may not be configured to support soft key functionality. Consult your system administrator. • speaker for on-hook dialing or on-hook listening • volume control bar for adjusting ringer, speaker, handset, and headset volume • four call processing fixed keys: —H

About the Nortel IP Phone 2007 Telephone controls Figure 1 shows the IP Phone 2007 controls. Figure 1: IP Phone 2007. Use the Volume control bar to adjust the volume of the ringer, handset, headset, speaker, and the Handsfree feature. Press the right side of the rocker bar to increase volume; press the left side to decrease volume. Use the Goodbye key to terminate an active call. Press the Hold key to put an active call on hold. Tap the flashing line (DN) soft key to return to the caller

About the Nortel IP Phone 2007 Use the Navigation keys to scroll through menus and lists appearing on the LCD display screen. The key rocks for up, down, left, and right movements. Press the Headset key to answer a call using the headset or to switch a call from the handset or handsfree to the headset. Press the Speaker key to activate handsfree. The speaker LED indicator lights to indicate when handsfree is active. Press the Mute key to listen to the receiving party without transmitting

The text labels are displayed by default and are changed using the Tools menu (see “To use Button Customizing Tool” on page 34 for more information). About the Nortel IP Phone 2007 Calibrate the touch panel You calibrate the touch panel through the Tools menu, which enables you to fine-tune the touch panel. You are prompted to use the stylus to tap three targets. See “To use Touch Panel Setup tool” on page 29 for further information. Stylus You operate the touch panel using a stylus or your finger.
