Alternatively it can contol lighting in conjuction with a wireless switching receiver; may not be available in all markets. RCA902A Installing the Motion Detector Positioning the Motion Detector • Place the detector within range of the Receiver , taking into consideration any r eduction in the maximum range (range depends on types of r eceivers used) caused by any objects in between. Avoid mounting the unit on or near large metal objects. • The r ecommended mounting height for the detector is 8 ft. At this height, the motion detector will have a range of approximately 40 ft.

RCA902A Linking the Detector to a Chime or Switching Receiver The detector has a unique identification code that prevents inadvertent and unwanted interference from other products operating in the area. In order for movement detect- ed by the detector to trigger the lights or Chime this code needs to be learned by either the Switching Receiver or Chime Unit. RCA902A Motion Detector Low Battery Indication The 9V battery should operate the detector for appr oximately 12 months depend- ing on the number of activations each day and the effect of low temperatures.
