If you must use it, you can find your device's specific MAC address by going to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wi-Fi settings > Menu > Advanced. It will look something like 00:16:dc:5e:9e:39. 5. Media from your PC's shared folders (SMB) If there are computers on your WiFi network that are sharing folders, then you will be able to browse those folders and play whatever content is in them. As shown to the left, a folder on your PC that is being shared has the hand-holding-a-folder icon. To share a folder on your PC, right-click on it and select Sharing. Open Video or Music > Storage and then select Media servers (UPnP) shown under External (you may need to scroll down to see this) to start scanning for devices and computers sharing their media files on the WiFi network. 2.
