Battery Installation QUICK START Battery Installation The GPS 12CX operates on 4 AA batteries (in- cluded), which are installed at the base of the unit. These batteries provide up to 36 hours of use in “Power Saver” mode. To install the batteries: 1. Remove the battery cover by turning the thumb loop at the bottom of the unit 1/4 turn counter- clockwise. 2. Insert the batteries into position. QUICK START Keypad Usage & Data Entry IN OUT The POWER key turns the unit on and off, GOTO PAGE activates the screen backlighting and contrast MARK control. Primary Pages QUICK START The GPS 12CX has five primary information pages, the Satellite, Position, Map, Navigation and Menu pages. Map Page QUICK START Map Page Map Page The Map Page Map Page allows you to view your position, the Map Page “path” you have traveled over, and nearby waypoints. A diamond icon in the center of the screen repre- sents your current position. As you move, you will see Primary Pages a thin line - called a track log - appear along the path you have just covered. Names of stored waypoints can also be shown on the map. The

Cancelling a GOTO QUICK START If you decide to stop navigating to the active waypoint, all you have to do is cancel the GOTO. To cancel an active GOTO: 1. Press the GOTO key. Cancelling a 2.
