The Remote Control In addition to operating the TV, the remote control can operate most cable TV converters, satellite receivers, VCRs, and DVD players, regardless of their brand. The remote control is pre-programmed to operate most HITACHI satellite receivers, VCRs, and DVD players. To control a non-HITACHI device (or a HITACHI device that the remote control is not pre-programmed to operate), you must first program the remote control.
