Setup and Operation To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment has a ground- ing-type plug that has a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding-type power outlet. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, contact qualified personnel to install the proper outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way. Setup and Operation Normal operation at all power Mode Control levels involves a programmed cycle of altering high and low air movement. To override the power control setting and let the unit run at maximum power for five minutes, Boost/Ions press BOOST/IONS until the button turns blue. Cleaning the Collection Grid Clean the grid every one or two weeks. As a reminder, the clean- ing indicator light will turn green after two weeks. If the cleaning indicator light turns red, the unit has shut down because of exces- sive dirt or circuitry problems. In many cases, a thorough cleaning will return the unit to normal operation. Thorough Cleaning If the unit makes noise during operation, a thorough cleaning of the grid, grills and internal ionizing wires may be required. Unplug the unit before cleaning.
