PREPARING THE CAMERA Installing the Battery Make sure that the power of the digital still camera is off before inserting or removing the battery. 1. Slide the battery cover in the direction of the [OPEN] arrow. 2. Insert the battery in the correct orientation as shown in the illustration. 3. Close the battery cover. Charging the Battery The state-of-charge of the battery will affect the performance of the digital still camera. To maximize battery performance and lifetime, it is recommended that you fully charge the battery using the optional AC power adapter and then fully discharge it (through normal use) at least one time.
