Getting started Loading the batteries • Manganese (zinc-carbon) batteries cannot be used. • If the batteries become exhausted, when the camera is connected to a PC for a long time while powered by the batteries and you are downloading images from the camera, the image data may be lost or damaged. Getting started Inserting the card (SmartMedia) This reference manual uses the term “card” when referring to SmartMedia. The card is convenient, for example, when you are traveling and you want to take a lot of pictures. When the card is inserted, the pictures you have taken are stored on the card.
