1 Getting Started Install Software First Install the software from the Kodak EasyShare software CD before connecting the camera (or camera dock) to the computer. Failure to do so may cause the software to load incorrectly. See the Start Here! guide or Installing the Software, page 61. Chapter 1 Loading the Batteries Two AA digital camera batteries (non-rechargeable) are included with your camera. 1 Turn off the camera. 2 On the bottom of the camera, slide the battery door and lift to open. 3 Insert the batteries, as shown. AA 4 Close the battery door. IMPORTANT BATTERY INFORMATION For acceptable battery life and to make sure your camera operates dependably, do not use alkaline batteries. If you purchased an optional Kodak CRV3 CRV3 lithium battery, insert it as shown.

Chapter 1 Turning the Camera On and Off 1 Rotate the Mode dial: Counterclockwise for Still capture modes Clockwise for Video mode The ready light blinks green while the Ready camera performs a self-check, then glows light green when the camera is ready to take pictures (or videos, if the mode dial is set to ). Chapter 1 Setting the Date and Time Setting the Date & Time, First Time The Date & Time have been reset message appears the first time you turn on the camera or if the battery is removed for an extended time. 1 SET DATE & TIME is highlighted. Press the OK button. The Date & Time screen appears. The date format is YYYY/MM/DD. The time is displayed in a 24-hour format. Or, select CANCEL then press the OK button to set the date and time at a later time. OK 2 Press to adjust the date and time
