Phone Socket (LINE) Dial Mode Switch located on the bottom Choose between PULSE Connect the phone or TONE dialing line cord. Ringer Volume Switch Use this switch to adjust ringer volume. INSTALLATION AND SETUP Please review the safety precautions at the front of this manual, then follow the directions in this chapter to connect your machine and set it up for use. Choosing a Location To help guarantee trouble-free operation of your fax machine, place it in a spot where: l It is not in direct sunlight or in excessive humidity. l It is not too close to heating or air conditioning vents. l Its ventilation openings aren’t blocked. l It is at least 4 inches away from other objects. l
