CHAPTER ONE 2 About Fax Machines If you’re a first-time fax machine user, fax operation might seem a little mysterious. You’ll soon get used to the unusual fax tones on your phone line, and be able send and receive faxes easily. Locate the machine near a telephone jack and a standard, grounded power outlet. Avoid placing your FAX/MFC in a high-traffic area. CHAPTER TWO 8 Attach paper support Attach the paper wire extension. 1 Open the paper cover. Insert the paper support into the grooves of the cover 2 as shown. CHAPTER TWO 12 Converting Telephone Wall Outlets There are three ways to convert to an RJ11 receptacle. The first two ways may require assistance from the telephone company. You can change the wall outlets from one RJ14 jack to two RJ11 jacks. Or, you can have an RJ11 wall outlet installed and slave or jump one of the phone numbers to it.
