Important Information Concerning Altitude Impact on Heating Input Ratings Heating input, and thus heating output, decreases with altitude. No orifice change is required up to 6,000 feet elevation and derate occurs naturally due to altitude impact. Natural gas models may require orifice change based on BTU content of gas.
