The instrument uses the message-based word serial interface for programming and data movement, as well as supporting direct register access for very high-speed data retrieval. SETTING THE LOGICAL ADDRESS The logical address of the VM4016 is set by a single 8-position DIP switch located near the module’s backplane connectors (this is the only switch on the module). The FETCh:CONDition query returns the 16-bit value that represents the current conditioned (masked and inverted) state of the inputs.
