Switching on 1. Place the unit on a flat surface. Plug the mains lead into a wall socket and switch on at the wall socket. Setting the time and date Note: When the unit is set to CD mode or radio you cannot set the time 1 and date. 1. Press and hold the Time Set button for 2 seconds. 3 2. Listening to the Radio 1. Switch on your radio by pressing the Radio On button. 1 2. The backlight will change from green to orange. The radio icon and the station frequency will show in the display. Storing stations in memory 1. Tune in the radio to the required station. 2. Press the Memory button. The Memory indicator will flash on the 1 display. 3. Select the required memory position by using the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/Mem. Down buttons. The position number will show on the display. 4. Store this station by pressing the Memory button. 3 3 5. Repeat the above steps until you have programmed all your favourite stations (maximum 15 stations for FM and 15 stations for MW) into the memory. 2

Compact discs Use only Digital Audio CDs which have the symbol. Never write on a CD or attach any sticker to the CD. Always hold the CD at the edge and store it in its case after use with the label facing up. To remove dust and dirt, breathe on the CD and wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth in a straight line from the centre towards the edge. Inserting a CD 1. To open the CD compartment, lift the CD door on the edge marked 'Open'. 2. Press the CD onto the spindle and close the CD door. 1 3. Playing a CD 1. Press the Play/Pause button to start playback. The display will show the time elapsed for the current track. The track number will show on the right side of the display. CD repeat mode Use this function to repeat a single track or repeat the entire CD. 1. Whilst the CD is playing press the Repeat button once to repeat the current track. Programmed play Use this function to programme the player to play selected tracks on the CD in the order that you want to hear them played. A maximum of 21 tracks can be programme. Erasing a programme 1. Programmes are erased by pressing the Stop/Off button, or interrupting the mains supply. 1 Setting Alarm Times Your unit has three separate alarms (Alarm 1, Alarm 2 and Alarm 3) that can be set and used independently and can be set to wake you with the radio, the CD player or by a buzzer.
