Measurement Method Healthy Living monitors measure blood pressure and pulse rate by using an oscillometric method, meaning the fluctuations in pressure are measured. Applying the Cuff •Insert the Cuff Plug into the Cuff Plug Jack on the Monitor. •Pull the Velcro tab so the cuff is laying flat with the Velcro facing up at you. •Pull the cuff to the left of the metal ring to form an opening for your arm. • Put your left arm through the cuff loop. Taking a Blood Pressure Measurement 1.Once the cuff is properly applied and you are seated with your feet flat on the floor, you are ready to take a measurement. 2.Press the "START/STOP" button, the " " icon in the upper left will guide you to depress the air release knob at the base of the Pump Bulb to release any trapped air. 3.When the " " icon begins flashing start squeezing the Pump Bulb.
