WORKINGMAN’S TOWER (continued) Tweeter Attenuator Control The large dial found on the input panel of the cabinet is the Tweeter Attenuator Control (see dia- gram, page 4). This control is used to adjust the level of high frequency signal present at the tweet- er. IMPEDANCE: A GENERAL OVERVIEW The following terms will be helpful in understanding the information in this section: Impedance: The resistance of a device to the flow of alternating current. Often used to rate the resistance of a speaker's voice coil. Ohm: A unit of electrical resistance equal to that of a conductor in which a current of one ampere is produced by a potential of one volt across its terminals. Although much less common, you could also add one, or even two, 16 ohm cabinets: two 16 ohm cabinets in parallel have the same total impedance as one 8 ohm speaker.
