4 1 INTRODUCTION This chapter introduces the D-Link DES-2212 switch, and the technologies that it uses to give you improved network performance and reliability. All of the ports can operate in either half-duplex or full-duplex mode. Full- duplex operation, allowing the port to transmit and receive at the same time, can double overall network bandwidth in many applications.
